National Rail’s prediction engine: the brain behind the times on station departure boards.

Darwin takes in the timetable, live reports from the railway and updates from train companies, and works out when every passenger train will reach each of its stops.

Its predictions are what you see on station boards and in most journey apps. Because it can see delays building, it can tell you a train will be late before it has even left.

Darwin’s updates are published live through a feed called the Push Port.
