Which time wins
Also: expected, actual, planned
A real time beats a prediction, and a prediction beats the plan.
Example
Best first
- Actual
- from TRUST
- Expected
- from Darwin
- Planned
- from the timetable
Every stop has a planned time from the timetable. Before the train gets there, Darwin may predict a different one. Once it’s been, TRUST reports when it really did.
Trainiac always shows the best it has. For a train that hasn’t left yet, Darwin’s forecast is the best guide, because it knows about delays in advance. Once the train is running, live reports take over.
If there’s nothing live or predicted for a stop, Trainiac doesn’t pretend the train is on time. It just doesn’t know yet.
In Trainiac
Departure and arrival times on a journey, and its delay.
