Britain’s timetable hints at the kind of train. The Bay Area’s says nothing, but there are so few kinds that the route is enough.
Every BART train is one of the Fleet of the Future, the cars that replaced BART’s original fleet. The old cars made their farewell run in April 2024.
Caltrain’s electric trains are all Stadler KISS units. The diesel trains between San Jose and Gilroy are something else, and for those Trainiac doesn’t guess.
It’s still a guess, so it says so. If you know better, you can set the class yourself.
