Train UID

Also: uid, schedule id, schedule identifier

The timetable’s own ID for a train’s schedule: a letter and five digits, like C12345.

Example

Made up, but shaped like the real thing.

Headcodes repeat, so the timetable gives every schedule its own unique identifier. It’s a letter followed by five digits.

One UID covers the same train on every day it runs, so the 08:42 every weekday can share one UID for the whole timetable. Add a date and you have exactly one train run.

When the schedule changes for a few days (for engineering work, say), the change carries the same UID, so it’s clear which train it changes.

In Trainiac

The train card: “Service 1A23 · C12345”.
